BIPoC Outside is a podcast about joy, empowerment, and the transformative power of the outdoors. Our goal is equity of access in outdoor sport and recreation. To manifest this diverse future, we’re talking to the folks who have been, and are continuing to do the real work to make that happen. This includes: BIPoC athletes who are crushing it at all levels, innovators who are pushing the sports forward in terms of who, how, and where we do them, organizers who are breaking down barriers so everyone can participate in ways that are meaningful to them, and the artists showcasing the diverse outdoor culture that is and opening our minds to what could be.
BIPoC Outside is researched, curated and recorded in both:
Edmonton Alberta Canada, traditionally named amiskwaciwâskahikan and located on Treaty 6 territory. This is the current home and traditional gathering place for diverse Indigenous Peoples including the Cree, Blackfoot, Métis, Nakota Sioux, Iroquois, Dene, Ojibway/Saulteaux/Anishinaabe, Inuit, and many others.
Oroville Washington USA, which is the current home and traditional gathering place for diverse Indigenous Peoples including the Nłeʔkepmx Tmíxʷ (Nlaka’pamux), Cayuse, Umatilla and Walla Walla, Syilx (Okanagan), and the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation
